Czech branch of Memorial and Gulag.cz together with Russian and Czech partners will host two commemorative events dedicated to the legacy of Andrei Sakharov, a prominent Soviet dissident and human rights defender, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.
Both events will take place on Thursday on 20th May 2021. Starting from 10.30 am, in the Wallenstein palace of the Senate of the Czech Republic, a conference "Andrei Sakharov 2021: Czech and Russian perspectives" will be held. It will be streamed live (for more information, see the related Facebook event). After the conference, the exhibition "Andrei Sakharov — person of the era" will be inaugurated at 1 p.m. in the Wallenstein garden on Malá Strana.
