How to write a letter to a political prisoner in Russia: detailed instructions

Over 3 000 Russian and Ukrainian citizens are currently facing various forms of politically motivated criminal prosecution in Russia. More than 1,100 of them are being prosecuted for anti-war attitudes. The easiest way to support these people and let them know that they have not been forgotten (despite what the Russian authorities wish) is to send them a letter or postcard.

In the Czech version of our website, here you'll find detailed instructions on how to do this. Our guide has not been translated into English, however, if you are interested in the topic, we highly recommend visiting the website of the Russian human rights organization OVD Info, where you can find information about writing letters to political prisoners in English.
