You helped us raise funds to complete the film from the Kyrgyzstan expedition!

At the end of August 2024, we set out in search of Czech traces and evidence of Soviet state terror in Kyrgyzstan. The result will be a documentary film and a special website, to which our supporters could contribute in a collection on Donio portal. Together we managed to raise a beautiful 338 334 CZK.

The horrors of the past, the wasted lives, the remains of uranium mines and labour camps - the forgotten history of Kyrgyzstan is slowly being taken away by time. Among the victims of Soviet state terror there were also many Czechoslovak citizens. Where were our compatriots executed? What do the Kyrgyz archives hide? What is the local memory of Soviet terror? Have historical injustices and crimes been named?

Answers to these and other questions will be provided by our upcoming documentary to be presented in April 2025. Thanks to the collection, we will be able to complete it and preserve these stories for the future so that they can become a worthy part of history here and in Kyrgyzstan. So that the crimes of the Soviet regime are never forgotten and warn of the threats of contemporary Russia.

We are truly happy and grateful to all of you who have chosen to support us over the past 2 months and become part of our story. We really couldn't have done it without you! We managed to do something we really didn't expect. We surpassed our target amount and raised a beautiful 338 334 CZK. We really appreciate your trust and it is also a great responsibility for us.

It is our commitment to make our film and other outputs of the highest quality. This is both to you, our supporters, and to the victims of the horrific Stalinist terror, as well as to the public and schoolchildren to whom we want to make the film as accessible as possible. We have several months of work ahead of us to work on the material taken during the expedition to Kyrgyzstan and to finalize the film. At the end of April 2025, we will officially premiere the film - on 24 April in Prague and 28 April in Ostrava.

We're glad you're in this with us!

You can find the successful collection and its results HERE.

The results of our research will also be used to create a special website where all of our discoveries and stories that we map on the expedition will be freely available to the public.
